Slow Cooker Salted Caramel Hot Cocoa

Ingredients
1 gallon whole milk
1 can (13.4 ounces) dulce de leche
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon coarse kosher or flaky sea salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips
1 1/2 cups whipped topping, thawed
Caramel sauce and/or chocolate covered caramel candies for garnish (optional)
Directions
- In 5- to 6-quart slow cooker, whisk milk, dulce de leche, cocoa powder, sugar and salt; add chocolate chips. Cover and cook on high 2 hours or until hot; whisk until smooth. Set slow cooker to Keep Warm setting. Makes about 18 cups hot cocoa.
- Serve hot cocoa topped with whipped topping garnished with caramel sauce and/or candies, if desired.
